Holy Ka’ba is the most sacred monument of Islam. The monument is believed to be built by prophet Abraham as the abode of God is the fountainhead of the monotheists’ religions of the World. The cuboid form of the Ka’ba is a manifestation of the concept of the “unity” of God. Regarded as the navel of the World; Muslims across the globe orient themselves towards the Ka’ba for the prayers (salat) five times a day.
Great information
ReplyDeleteAccording to most reputable Islamic historians, there were many Kaaba. Why was this particular one selected out of the hundreds for a holy site? These kaaba were visited by many peoples, Christians and Jews because these sites didn't just occur out in the country, they were common market places built around them. They were also the site for Indo-Aryan temples, particularly fire-worship temples of India. To this day, these Indian temple worshippers circumambulate counter-clockwise, just as Muslims do. and the stones (allegedly meteorites) were seen as signs of god, since they came as appearing like stars (fire as in meteors). So it makes sense that this was pagan. Today, particularly in Iran, Zoroastrianism is practiced, and their temples are also fire temples. Just Google it and you'll see the photos. It's all a continuation of pagan beliefs. Mohammed even incorporated pagan gods in sura 53, al-Lat and al-‘Uzza and Manat. Mohammed never gave up his polytheistic beliefs, appeasing the Quraysh tribe entirely.
ReplyDeleteLittle learning is a dangerous thing'. This is an unpardonable comment that Mohammad PBUH never gave up his polytheistic beliefs. All the prophets like him continued the message- ‘there is no god except God’. Practically Islam is based on monotheism and probably is the only religion of monotheists. Yes, Mohammad PBUH did not put any bad comments against other believers and advised his followers to do the same for greater universal brotherhood. This is the purity of the Mohammad PBUH. Virtually he is the founder of Liberty, equality and fraternity of human race. You misinterpreted Sura 53 and requested to go through Sura 112 & 109 and also so many verses of the Quran.
DeleteRegarding Kaba - Kaba was the unique model for monotheism from the beginning and it was built for that. Mohammad PBUH re-established its original purity. Circumambulation like planetary system is the universal practice of monotheism considering God is the centre of all hopes and aspirations. Don’t misinterpret- Kaba is God but it is the fountains of God’s mercy begged by the Muslim during the circumambulation keeping his heart towards the Kaba (that's why counter clock wise direction) as well as praying in the direction of Kaba from all over the world.
