SERENA SIZZLES IN WIMBLEDON

Jul 4, 2010

THREE CHEERS FOR SERENA THE YOUNGEST OF THE WILLIAMS SISTER. SERENA WILLIAMS WON WIMBLEDON DEFEATING VERA ZVONAREVA IN TWO STRAIGHT SETS. 6-3, 6-2. SHE OVERPOWERED HER OPPONENT BY HARD HITS AND VERA HAD NO REPLY FOR THAT. NOW SERENA HAS 4 WIMBLEDON TITLES AND TOTAL 13 GRAND SLAM TITLES. SHE STOOD 110 WEEKS AT NO 1 POSITION AND HAS WON 199 GRAND SLAM MATCHES. SERENA WILL HAVE 200 GRAND SLAM MATCHES WON BY HER IN THE US OPEN.
BUT VERA HAD NOTHING TO CRY ABOUT LOSING THE FINAL AGAINST SERENA AS SHE WON THE WOMENS DOUBLES MATCH JUST AFTER 3HOURS WITH HER PARTNER ELENA VESNINA DEFEATING VANIA KING AND YAROSLAVA SHVEDOVA BY 7-6 AND 6-2.
